Cookie Policy
Mareike Ramona Wevers informs about the use of cookies on her website: www.bolita-events.com
What are cookies?
Cookies are files that can be downloaded to your device through web pages. They are essential tools for providing numerous services in the information society. Among other things, they allow a website to store and retrieve information about a user’s browsing habits or their device and, depending on the information obtained, can be used to recognize the user and improve the service offered.
Types of cookies
Depending on who manages the domain from which cookies are sent and processes the obtained data, two types can be distinguished:
• First-party cookies: Those sent to the user’s device from a machine or domain managed by the publisher itself and from which the service requested by the user is provided.
• Third-party cookies: Those sent to the user’s device from a machine or domain not managed by the publisher but by another entity that processes the data obtained through the cookies.
If the cookies are installed from a machine or domain managed by the publisher but the information collected through them is managed by a third party, they cannot be considered first-party cookies.
There is also a second classification based on the duration they remain stored in the client’s browser, which can be:
• Session cookies: Designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a web page. They are usually used to store information that only needs to be kept for the provision of the service requested by the user on one occasion (e.g., a list of purchased products).
• Persistent cookies: The data remains stored on the device and can be accessed and processed over a period defined by the cookie’s owner, ranging from a few minutes to several years.
Finally, there is another classification with six types of cookies based on the purpose for which the obtained data is processed:
• Technical cookies: Allow the user to navigate through a web page, platform, or application and use various options or services available, such as controlling traffic and data communication, identifying the session, accessing restricted access areas, remembering the items in an order, processing an order, requesting registration or participation in an event, using security elements during navigation, storing content for video or sound dissemination, or sharing content through social networks.
• Customization cookies: Allow the user to access the service with some predefined general characteristics based on a series of criteria on the user’s device, such as language, browser type, regional configuration, etc.
• Analytical cookies: Allow the responsible party to track and analyze the behavior of users on the websites they are linked to. The information collected through these cookies is used to measure the activity of websites, applications, or platforms and to create browsing profiles of users to make improvements based on the analysis of usage data.
• Advertising cookies: Enable the efficient management of advertising spaces.
• Behavioral advertising cookies: Store information about users’ behavior obtained through continuous observation of their browsing habits, allowing for the development of specific profiles to display ads accordingly.
• External social media cookies: Used to allow visitors to interact with content from different social platforms (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) and are generated solely for users of those social networks. The conditions for using these cookies and the information collected are governed by the corresponding social platform’s privacy policy.
